Kolkata, 29 Feb, 2020: A splendid unbeaten double century by captain Jayojit with two half centuries from Writick (78) and Vivek (77) ensured the solid first innings lead for Mohun Bagan in CAB first division league Group A match at Videocon Ground, Kolkata.

The first day of play was wasted due to bad pitch conditions and the match started only on the second day after umpires’ inspection. Bagan won the toss and chose to field first. Aryans started their innings well with 54 for no loss after 11 overs. Bagan’s spin wizard provided the breakthrough and picked up two quick wickets. After that Aryans lost wickets in regular interval. Rajkumar Paul ended the innings with a 5-wickets-haul. Tuhin and Sourav picked up a couple of wickets each and Aryans were all out for 268 before the end of second day’s play.
Mohun Bagan openers provided a steady start and did not lose any wicket on the second day with score 25/0. Jayojit and Writick continued their superb batting performances on the next day and provided a 217-run opening partnership before Writick got out. Vivek joined the skipper and added another 157 runs in partnership. Mohun Bagan at the end of the third day summed up a 474/4. Jayojit flourished his innings with 29 boundaries and 7 huge over boundaries with more than hundred strike rate.. For his splendid unbeaten 250 in 231 balls, Bagan skipper Jayojit was awarded the Man of the Match.

With two back to back 7 points for first innings lead,Bagan looks strong in the CAB first division league Group A.
