Mohun Bagan to Face Chennai City FC in a Crucial I League Tie

Kalyani, March 4, 2020: Mohun Bagan continued their unstoppable form & eked out a 3-1 away victory against TRAU FC in last match, thus equaling a club record of 12 match unbeaten streak in I-League. The Mariners raced to a 3-0 lead in first half. Despite some nervy moments in second half, Kibu Vicuna’s team held strong to maintain a healthy lead at top of the table.

Komron Tursunov will be missing the action against Chennai City FC due to the red card he picked up in previous match. Daneil Cyrus is also uncertain due to fitness concerns. Speaking to press Vicuna said, “We are going to focus on what we can do and what we can do is win our game. We have to focus on our game. I already told it is going to be a tough match. Hopefully, we will get a good result tomorrow and then we will see after that what happens”. Changes are expected in the first 11 as Ashutosh Mehta who is back from suspension should get into first 11.

Defending champions Chennai City FC are placed 6th in the table with 19 points in 14 matches. They fought hard against the Mariners in the home tie going down 2-3 in the end. They will try to replicate their home form to pose a threat to Mohun Bagan’s unbeaten run.

Mohun Bagan face Chennai City FC at Kalyani Stadium on 5th March from 5 PM.
