Kolkata, Oct 25, 2019: Mohun Bagan bounced back from a shock loss in the opening fixture to seal a 2-0 victory over TC Sports Club in 2019 Sk Kamal International Gold Cup. Man of the Match Daneil Cyrus opened the scoring while Mariners’ season top scorer Salva Chamorro grabbed the second goal.

To progress to semi-finals Mohun Bagan is now engaged in a three way tussle with Young Elephants and Chittagong Abahani. THe Mariners will have their task cut out against Chittagong in the final group match. The Bangladeshi club has pumped in eight goals in their two matches so far and have looked in extremely good form. Matthew Chinedu, Luka Rotkovic and Jamal Bhuyan have managed to find back of the net multiple times in group stage.

Kibu Vicuna’s boys will need to avoid a loss to Chittagong to keep alive any hopes of progressing to semi-final. A draw in this match will mean Mariners will still have a mathematical chance of qualification based on result of the other group match between TC Sports and Young Elephants.
