Kolkata, Dec 07, 2019 : After a draw against Aizawl FC in the opening round, the Mariners are back on home turf against Churchill Brothers. Kibu Vicuna’s team will be looking to get back to winning ways in Kalyani.

Mohun Bagan started brightly against Aizawl FC but were unable to capitalize on chances and slumped to a draw. With Gokulam Kerala already notching two wins, the Green & Maroons will be aiming to get all three points against the team from Goa. In pre match conference Kibu Vicuna had the following to say, “Churchill are physically very strong. They have two central defenders who are very tall and sturdy. They also play well with the ball. Again the two strikers are complimenting each other. One is scoring and the other is making supporting runs. But we have to handle these aspects. We will try to control the game and impose ourselves on them. They have got a new coach and he must have utilised the week well to prepare his team”.

Churchill Brothers made a strong start to the I-League campaign with a 3-0 victory over Punjab FC. Willis Plaza and Lalkhawpuimawia linked up well in the opening match and Mohun Bagan defence will need to wary about the speedy duo. Aside from a strong attack Churchill Brothers also boast of players like Abu Bakr, Robert Junior Primus, Ceesay Dawda, Kalif Alhassan and Israil Gurung.Last season the Red Machines won this fixture 3-0 with a goal from Ceesay and a brace from Plaza.
