Mohun Bagan started their campaign with early set back when they lost against unfancied Young Elephant FC of Laos. Mariners produced much improved performance in next two matches when they beat TC Sports Club, Maldives by 2-0 and Chittagong Abahani by 1-0 to qualify for the semi final as group runners.

The victory will ensure the second final of the season for Kibu Vicuna’s team but they will need to show a different, more nuanced side to their game if they are to claim a win against Malaysian side Terengganu FC who already scored highest number of goals in Group stage. Captain Lee Tuck who marshaled the midfield and Brazilian descent Bruno Suzuki the talisman striker are the players to watch out for. Foreigner stopper combo of Daneil Cyrus and Fran Morante have their task cut out against strong attacking lineup of Terengganu FC.
