Kolkata, Nov 29, 2019: Mohun Bagan will open their I-League 2019-20 campaign against Aizawl FC on Saturday. The four time champions will travel to Aizawl to square off against 2016-17 champions. A trip to the Mizo capital is always daunting but Kibu Vicuna’s boys will be looking to start the I-League season with a victory.

The Mohun Bagan squad travelling to Aizawl doesn’t have any fitness problems and Vicuna is likely to have all players available for selection. In a pre-match interview the Spanish coach said, “We have trained for a long time and played about 20 official matches. The team is ready to compete at their best level. I am happy with the team I have”.

Aizawl FC have squad which boasts of a mixture of local talents along with experienced foreigners like Kingsley Obumneme and the long serving Alfred Jaryan. The Peoples Club are in excellent form in ongoing Mizoram Premier League and are in semi-final after topping the round-robin league. They scored 37 goals in 14 matches with Alfred and Lalremsanga scoring 8 times and another 6 goals from Rochharzela. Under former Mohun Bagan coach Stanley Rozario, Aizawl FC is certain to provide a stiff challenge to the Mariners.
